How I Helped Lyrics Born Go Viral and Increase His Followers by 900%

Who would have thought that a video we shot at an elementary school park in his neighborhood would go viral and lead to Snoop Dogg reposting it to his 89+ million followers on Instagram.

Lyrics Born was on Dreg One’s "History of the Bay" podcast in 2025. In one segment, LB tells the story of how we went viral promoting the songs on his final album, "Goodbye, Sticky Rice." In a span of a year since we started his album rollout, his Instagram followers grew from 20k to 200k+. TikTok went from 1.5k to close to 60k during this time. This was all because of short-form performance videos.

Many artists hate the idea of creating "content," but it has always been an important business asset in marketing and promoting music, even before social media and the internet.

When I originally proposed the idea to him, he was hesitant at first, but gave me a chance to try it to promote songs from a new acoustic album release during the summer of 2024. We saw slight improvements in reach and engagement, so we continued the same approach for his new album campaign. The rest is history.
